Inclusion Workshop W-10

Schools & Families as Inclusion Partners

Length: 3-6 Hours

Together, educators share the learning key with families to drive students to achieve inclusion successes. The collaboration between homes and schools is accomplished with structured planning, preparation, and ongoing communication. This is not always an easy task when emotions from prior unrewarding experiences come into play, but with collaboration and ongoing sharing, parent-teacher relationships are destined to become productive ones. The information in this workshop is intended to share the joys of teaching with families and for families to share the joys of their children with educators.

Learn how to:

  • Establish and maintain trusting inclusion partnerships.
  • Go beyond mandated IEP meetings or scheduled parent-teacher conferences.
  • Honor and share school strategies and home perspectives.

Audiences

Families and all school staff.
